WELCOME
CALLING THE SHOT invites both novice and experienced female shooters to join the clay shooting community. Our goal is to connect women who share an interest in the sport, whether they wish to learn, simply enjoy it as a recreational activity in beautiful locations, or eventually compete.
In 2024, Ronda Carman discovered her passion for shooting clays and wanted to share it with other women, inspiring her to establish CALLING THE SHOT.
As a lifestyle journalist, travel writer, and Rizzoli author, Ronda is known for her dedication to fostering meaningful connections and documenting life's most memorable experiences. The CALLING THE SHOT initiative aims to create new opportunities for women to travel, connect, engage, and learn through the enriching outdoor activity of clay shooting.
We hope that what began as a simple ambition — to unite and empower women around a shared sport in beautiful places worldwide — will evolve into a passionate and supportive community.

WHAT IS A LUXURY SPORTING CLAY RETREAT?

Luxury means different things to different people. At CTS, we define luxury through several key elements: exquisite hideaways and thoughtfully curated accommodations, experienced guides and coaches who teach the sport of clay shooting, opportunities for enjoyment and leisure, introductions to exceptional individuals, and access to extraordinary experiences.

IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?

Yes. Participants must be at least 21 years of age due to liability considerations and the provision of alcoholic beverages at evening events during our retreats.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

Please inform us in advance of any dietary restrictions you may have. While we strive to provide vegetarian options at most meals, we may be unable to accommodate highly specific or severely restricted diets without prior notification.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RETREAT COST?

Airfare and transportation are not included. Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the designated destinations. Additionally, gratuities for housekeeping, butler services, and other specialized staff, as well as any spa treatments or shopping excursions, are the responsibility of the participants.

WHAT IF I DO NOT OWN A SHOTGUN?

No problem. We offer a limited number of complimentary Perazzi shotguns for those who do not own one, prefer not to bring their own, or would like the opportunity to experience a Perazzi. Please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements for everyone.

WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER SHOT A GUN?

The goal of CTS and our luxury retreats is to make clay shooting accessible to women of all skill levels. Our coaches and guides are professional instructors dedicated to accommodating your ability level.

HOW HARD DOES A SHOTGUN KICK?

Some shotguns exhibit more recoil than others. One reason Ronda has chosen to invest in a Perazzi is that these shotguns are well-known for their excellent recoil management and are characterized by meticulous design and engineering.
Please let us know in advance if you do not have a shotgun. We have a limited selection of complimentary Perazzi shotguns available for use.

ARE SHOTGUNS LOUD?

Shotguns are very loud. All guests are required to wear ear protection (either muffs or ear plugs) and eye protection at all times. Basic ear protection is always provided, and more advanced is available for purchase.

We are dedicated to creating a safe environment and take safety very seriously. We ensure that strict guidelines and rules are not only taught, but also actively enforced, fostering a culture of safety for everyone.

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU RESERVE?

We reserve the right to ask any guest(s) to leave due to acts of violence, inappropriate behavior, disruptive conduct, or unsafe actions, for any reason and without justification. In the rare event that you are asked to leave, no refund or credit will be issued.
