When a change of plans added a few days to our stay in Northern Italy, we decided to spend some time on Lake Garda. Situated between Venice and Milan, Lake Garda is the largest freshwater lake in Italy.
Often overshadowed by the popular Lake Como, both are nestled among the Alpine foothills at the base of the Italian Alps. At twice the size of Como, Garda offers a more diverse and expansive landscape.
